Approved locks

Download pdf list

The locks Sundays currently approve are selected keyed D-locks, folding locks, and chain locks that are less than 2 years old at the policy inception.

If you are unsure if your lock is approved, please send us an email with the lock's brand, model, and value (if possible, include a purchase receipt or photo), and we can let you know if it is approved.

How to lock your bike
Standard approved method of locking your bike

Please ensure that you lock your bike correctly by securing the frame to an immovable object with an approved lock.

Additional security bike locking tips
For added security, it is best practice to use a second lock to secure both wheels. While this is not a policy requirement, it is highly recommended to protect your bike from theft.
Examples of bike lock methods with additional security

Two locks through each wheel and frame to an immovable object.

Secure the approved lock through the frame and both wheels to an immovable object.

How NOT to lock your bike
Typical mistakes that can be made when locking your bike

The D-lock is only securing the wheel. The bike frame must be secured to an immovable object.

The D-Lock attached to the immovable object, with only the accessory cable securing the bike.
