How we Value Bicycles

How is the market value of an older bike calculated?

When covering your bike, you'll need to ensure that the value you list is correct. Please remember to take into account any modifications/upgrades you've made to your bicycle when determining the value.

To calculate the value of a bike older than two years, we take the original Recommended Retail Price (RRP) of the item and deduct 10% for every year (or part thereof).

If we can't establish the original RRP, we use the RRP of an equivalent replacement and apply depreciation.

Bicycle Security Questions

Is my bike covered for theft away from home?

Yes. Unlike homeowners & renters insurance, your bicycle is covered against theft both from home and away from home.

How should I store my bicycle at home?

Appropriate security must be considered at all times. For full security conditions while at home, please refer to the security conditions of your policy wording.

If your bike is stolen from your home, we'll need evidence of forced or violent entry and a police report number when you make a claim.

If your bicycle is left anywhere else on your property, for instance, in an open garage or garden shed without a lock, it must be secured to an immovable object with an approved lock.

Can I store my bike in a garage?

Yes. However, when your bicycle is kept inside your house, garage, or outbuilding, and you are not home, all the doors and windows of your house, garage and outbuildings must be locked.

If you are home, the garage doors and windows must be locked if you are not in the garage or outbuilding. For clarity, if you are busy in the house and your bicycle is in the garage, the garage door must be locked.

If you lock your bicycle in a common area, like a parking garage or foyer of your building, the bicycle must be locked by an approved lock to an immovable object.

Can I store my bike in a shed?

Yes. Remember, if your bicycle is in the shed and you are not (for example, if you're busy in the house) the shed doors and windows must be locked.

How should I store my bicycle away from home? What are the situations where my bike needs to be locked?

If you leave your bike unattended when in town, at a friend's, during a café stop, etc. your bike needs to be locked to an immovable object through the frame using an approved lock.

Unattended means whenever your entire bicycle is out of your direct line of sight or more than five yards away from you. For clarity, if you are stopping to have a coffee after a ride, you don't have to lock your bicycle if it is less than five yards from you and in your direct line of sight the entire time. If you can't see it, even if it's just for a moment, it must be locked as specified above to be covered.

How should I store my bicycle while it's being transported?

If your bicycle is left unattended in or attached to a motor vehicle – for instance, in a service station car park or in a town square where you've stopped for lunch – then it must be:

  • Kept inside a securely locked vehicle; or
  • Locked and secured to a properly fixed bicycle rack via the lockable security provision of the bicycle rack; or
  • Locked through the frame of the bicycle to a properly fixed bicycle rack with an approved lock; or
  • Locked inside an enclosed boot; or
  • Kept inside a fully enclosed trailer which is securely locked by a closed shackle padlock or by the lockable security provisions of the trailer.

Please note that if your bicycle is fitted to a bicycle rack outside of daylight hours, it is not covered.

Do you have stipulations about bike boxes?

If you're going on a plane with your bike, your bicycle and/or accessories must be securely packed in appropriate transportation equipment that fully encloses and protects your bicycle and/or accessories in their entirety.

How should I lock up my bicycle?

You should lock your bicycle securely through the frame and quick release wheels, and then to an immovable object using one of our approved locks.

How do I know if I have an approved lock?

An approved lock means a lock that is approved by Sundays Insurance. Please see the list available here. If you're unsure or can't find your lock on this list, please contact our friendly consultants on (805) 448-6558 or [email protected].

Bicycle Insurance Coverage

Why should I use Sundays Insurance if my bicycle is covered under my homeowners or renters insurance?

While your homeowners & renters insurance may provide some coverage for your bike, there might be limitations to the value and it's unlikely to comprehensively cover many of the situations unique to cycling.

Sundays Insurance ensures you can handpick the cover that's right for you, and enjoy benefits unique to the sport and related situations you may find yourself in, whether you ride a road bike, mountain bike, or even an e-bike.

You can also enjoy optional benefits unique to specialist cycling insurance such as racing coverage, worldwide coverage, and coverage for your accessories and wheelsets.

Do I have to insure the contents of my home with Sundays Insurance to be able to get coverage for my bicycles?

No. We only provide specialist bicycle insurance, so you can't insure any other home contents with us.

What questions can I ask my homeowners or renters insurance provider to find out if my bike is covered?

Many cyclists think their bicycle is covered under another insurance policy they may have, such as homeowners & renters insurance. They may only find out they're not sufficiently covered when it's time to claim, and by that point it's too late.

What many cyclists don't realise is that most homeowners & renters policies have low limits on coverage for sporting equipment (like bicycles). Low limits mean that your bicycle might only be covered for a stated policy limited amount like $800, even if you paid $8,000 for it. Along with this, homeowners & renters policies rarely provide any coverage if you have an accident or your bike is stolen away from home.

To find out how well your bike is covered under your homeowners & renters policy, here are some questions you can ask your current or potential insurer:

  • Do you cover my bicycle if I ride it and crash it?
  •
  • Do you cover my bicycle for theft away from home?
  •
  • Do you provide coverage for bicycles for their full value, or are there coverage limits on the policy?
  •
  • Do you insure my bicycle for accidental and malicious damage?
  •
  • Do you provide coverage for racing?
  •
  • Do you provide coverage for traveling with my bicycle?
How much will it cost to insure my bicycle?

One of the benefits of Sundays Insurance is that your premiums are personalized to your bike - we don't do a one-size-fits-all approach. Our policies start from as low as $8 per month, but unfortunately we can't provide one figure that will apply to everyone. When calculating your customized insurance premium, we use factors such as:

  • Specified value of your bicycle
  •
  • Optional coverage selected (such as worldwide coverage, racing and event coverage, and lifetime new for old coverage)
  •
  • The number of bicycles you're insuring. Did you know that we provide a multi-bike discount?

The best way to find out is to complete a quote or chat with our team. It only takes a few minutes to complete a quote, or you can call us on (805) 448-6558 or email us at [email protected].

I have made an insurance claim for my bicycle before, will this affect my coverage?

Probably not, but in some circumstances it might. Every policy is assessed individually, so it's important that you give us all the information we need during the quoting process, especially if you've had any bicycle-related losses in the past three years. Any gaps in your details might affect future claims so if in doubt, let us know.

Can I get a hire bike if my own is stolen or damaged?

Absolutely! We'll always try to get your bike repaired or replaced as a matter of urgency, but if for some reason we can't, we'll reimburse you up to $300 to hire a bicycle.

To access this benefit, you need to have selected optional worldwide coverage or racing and event coverage, and the covered loss must have occurred seven days or less before travelling or participating in a cycling race or event.

Do you choose the bike shop to carry out the repair or replacement of my bicycle?

We're passionate supporters of the cycling industry, especially bike shops. We are happy to and would actually prefer to work with your bike shop of choice, but we retain the right to choose a repairer if, for example, the bike shop does not have the necessary expertise or stock to carry out a specific assessment. In such a case, we'll make use of an assessor of our own choosing.

Is my bike covered if it is stolen mid-ride?

Yes. With Sundays Insurance your bike is covered if, for instance, a light-fingered passer-by steals it while you're enjoying a mid-ride coffee stop. There are conditions though: The bike must be in your direct line of sight and at most five yards from where you're sitting, otherwise it must be locked through its main frame by an approved lock to an immovable object.

Is my bike covered for damage if I drive into an indoor car park or garage, accidentally forgetting that it's fastened to the roof rack?

Yes. Many homeowners & renters insurers won't cover this sort of thing but as cyclists ourselves, we know that repairing or replacing a mangled carbon frame can cost thousands of dollars. We've got your bike covered while transporting it on your roof rack, subject to policy terms and conditions.

Will you cover damage to my roof rack or bike rack?

We cover an insured bicycle that is damaged while fastened to a roof rack or bike rack, but we don't cover the rack itself. It's worth checking with your auto insurer as this sort of coverage is typically provided there. Make sure to check whether they require you to specify your bike rack as an extra accessory for the coverage to be in place.

Is my bike covered if it is stolen from my home and worth more than $3,000?

Yes. Sundays Insurance can cover bikes up to the value of $21,500 each. Note, your whole bicycle collection can exceed this value as long as each individual machine comes in under that number.

Am I covered if I have a cycling accident?

If you have an accident, like a crash, and have a valid claim on your bicycle, we will pay up to $1,000  for out-of-pocket emergency medical expenses. This can be applied to things like ambulance costs, x-rays or getting stitched up after a crash, but does not apply to non-emergency costs like physiotherapy.
Medical coverage is not available in New York.

Is my bike covered if I have a crash during a race?

Yes. You simply need to add optional racing and event coverage to your bicycle insurance policy to ensure it's covered during races, triathlons, and sportives. Many traditional homeowners & renters insurers won't cover race damage, but we've got your back.

How much should I list my bicycle for?

We cannot give advice on how to insure your bicycle and the sum insured value. However, we do have some general tips you could use to determine a suitable insured value:

  • Bicycles purchased new and less than two years old
List at the purchase price or the new recommended retail price, whichever is greater.
  • Bicycles older than two years old
The sum insured should be reflective of market value. Market value means our best-estimated price that a buyer would pay and a seller would accept for an item in an open and competitive market for a bicycle or custom part or accessory of similar make, model, quality, material, condition, function, type and age.
To calculate this, take the original recommended retail price of the item and deduct 10% for every year or part thereof.
How is depreciation on my bicycle calculated?

Unless you select lifetime new for old coverage, depreciation is applied if the bicycle or item you're making a claim on is older than two years at the time of the claim. The depreciated value is calculated by taking the original RRP (Recommended Retail Price) of the item and deducting 10% for every year or part thereof. Should we be unable to establish the original RRP, we will make use of the current RRP of an equivalent replacement item and apply depreciation.

What level of coverage do I need?

That depends on how you use your bike. For example, will you be using it to race or taking it with you on overseas trips? We offer a range of customized coverage add-ons, like racing & event coverage and worldwide coverage.

If you aren't sure, contact our team via email on [email protected], phone us on (805) 448-6558, or talk to one of our friendly consultants on our live chat.

What risks am I covered for?

We want to ensure you can always ride with peace of mind, so we've designed our product to cover you in a range of scenarios including:

  • Theft from & away from home
  • Accidental damage to your bicycle, like crashing
  • Malicious damage
  • Domestic travel with your bicycle
  • Transporting your bicycle on a bicycle rack
  • Taxi fare reimbursement
  • Event entry reimbursement (if you've selected racing and event coverage)
  • Replacement bicycle hire reimbursement (if you've selected worldwide or racing and event coverage)
  • Optional worldwide coverage
  • Optional racing and event coverage
  • Optional coverage for your accessories, custom parts & wheelsets
My bike is worth $5,000. Can I still get insurance?

Yes. With Sundays Insurance you can insure bicycles that are valued between $300 and $21,500 per bicycle, and you can add multiple bikes. While we can only provide online quotes for bikes valued at up to $21,500 we may cover bikes with a higher value. Please give us a call on (805) 448-6558 for a specialized quote.

My bike is quite old, is it worth insuring?

As long as your bike's market value is over $300, it's worth insuring. But, to get an online quote, your bicycle must have been bought new within the past five years. If your bicycle is older than five years, we may still be able to cover it. Just give us a call on (805) 448-6558 or chat with us and our friendly customer service team will take you through the quote process.

What is the maximum bicycle value Sundays Insurance will insure?

The maximum value for individual bicycles we insure automatically through the website is $21,500, but you can exceed that number if you cover multiple bikes.

While we can only provide online quotes for bikes valued at up to $21,500 we may cover bikes with a higher value. Please give us a call on (805) 448-6558 or chat to one of our friendly consultants on our live chat for a specialized quote.

Do you cover more than one bicycle per policy and do I get a multi-bike discount?

We know you can only ride one bike at a time - but you can own many more! Setting up multiple bikes on one policy is easy. Just indicate you want to cover multiple bikes during the quoting process and you'll qualify for 10% off on each additional bike you add.

This is only applicable across all listed bicycles and excludes accessories and other selections.

Finally, a great excuse to get that new bike you've had your eye on! Please note that your partner's bike(s) can be added to your account, simply add them as an additional policyholder on the quote line. Additional policyholders must reside permanently at the address specified and be older than 18 years.

Do you cover e-bikes like mine?

Yes, we love electric pedal power!

For the purposes of this policy, the definition of e-bikes includes electric ‘pedal assist' bicycles as approved by your applicable state or federal legislation.

Class 1: Equipped with a motor that helps you move only while pedaling. Once you reach 20 miles per hour, you're on your own and all electric assistance stops.

Class 2: Equipped with a motor that if you engage the throttle, you will get moving without having to pedal yourself. But, once you reach 20 miles per hour, it is up to you to keep the electric bicycle moving without assistance.

Class 3: Equipped with a motor that helps you move only while pedaling. Once you reach a speed of 28 miles per hour, you're on your own and all electric assistance stops. This bicycle is also equipped with a speedometer.

For all of the above the maximum power output is 750 watts. Manufacturers and distributors of electric bicycles are required to apply a class identification label to each electric bicycle which comes in handy.

We don't cover bicycles fitted with internal combustion engines or other sources of power assistance. Furthermore, we don't offer coverage for self-made or homemade e-bikes.

While it's cool, we cannot insure a retrofitted regular road bike or mountain bike. Please note that you have to make sure that you comply with your state's laws regarding electric bicycles.

Can professional cyclists, sponsored cyclists, and couriers use Sundays Insurance?

Unfortunately, at this stage we don't offer coverage for sponsored cyclists, professional cyclists or for individuals whose bikes are used or rented out for compensation or the carriage of passengers or courier services (delivering goods, parcels, packages or any other delivery service).

We define professional racing as partaking in activities with your bicycle for which you are remunerated (in money or any other form). We do not view you as professional if, for example, you get limited assistance from your bike shop for things like cycling kit and some energy gels under the value of $2,500 per calendar year.

If you're a professional or sponsored rider, please contact us on (805) 448-6558 or email us at [email protected] for further clarification and individual case reviews.

What does it mean to be a professional cyclist?

A professional cyclist is a person who rides or races bicycles as their primary source of income.

A sponsored cyclist means a person who receives direct or indirect financial or non-financial support of $2,500 in the aggregate over any consecutive 12 month period from one or more sponsors in order to train, ride in or otherwise participate in cycling events. Sponsorships include but are not limited to financial income, the provision, loan or subsidization of bicycles, bicycle components or accessories, clothing and apparel, travel and accommodation, event entry and/or license or membership fees.

Does Sundays Insurance offer cyclist liability insurance?

We do not offer cyclist liability insurance. Our bicycle insurance policies do, however, include medical payments coverage. Our medical payments coverage will cover reasonable charges up to $1,000 for necessary medical, surgical, x-ray, dental, ambulance, hospital and professional nursing services expenses incurred within one year from the date of an accident causing bodily injury to an insured person while riding an insured bicycle.

Medical coverage is not available in New York.

Is my bicycle covered for international and domestic travel?

Absolutely, we know there's nothing better than packing up your bike and heading off to sunnier climates. Your bike will be covered for domestic travel within the US, and if you're traveling internationally, you can add optional worldwide coverage on your policy so you can pedal the globe with peace of mind for up to 90 days.

If you already have your travel plans sorted when you go through the process of purchasing Sundays Insurance online, then you can add worldwide coverage during the process. But if your plans come together at a later date, get in touch with our friendly team once your plans are finalized and they'll get you covered.

Important to note: Please contact us if you are traveling internationally, this way we can activate your worldwide coverage.

How do I get my bike ready for a trip?

Whether you're traveling internationally or within the US, getting your bike travel-ready is very important. Here are a few tips to ensure your bike enjoys the trip as much as you do:

  • Make sure you service your bike before traveling to prevent any mechanicals while you're away from home.
  •
  • Pack your bike well when traveling. Make use of a proper bicycle-specific bag or box. Add extra protection to your frame and any other vulnerable parts of your bike for extra protection.
  • Deflate your tyres when flying. Deflating your tyres will prevent them from building up pressure during the flight which could lead to them bursting or cracking a rim. Most airlines list it as a requirement too.

Read our blog for more tips on what to do when traveling with your bicycle.

What if I get hit by a car while cycling?

In the unfortunate event you are hit by a car, your bike will be covered under your accidental damage coverage. Our medical payments coverage will cover reasonable charges up to $1,000 for necessary medical, surgical, x-ray, dental, ambulance, hospital and professional nursing services expenses incurred within one year from the date of an accident causing bodily injury to an insured person while riding an insured bicycle.1

What if my bicycle is damaged in a road traffic accident with an uninsured driver?

We know that getting caught up in a collision with a vehicle is every cyclists' worst nightmare, and we want to give you one less thing to stress about. Whether or not the driver is insured, your bicycle will be covered under our bicycle insurance and we'll either repair or replace your bike as soon as possible.

What if I get a new bicycle?

Firstly, congratulations! A new bike is always a cause for celebration at Sundays Insurance. If it's less than 30 days since purchase, you just need to send us your receipt to prove condition and ownership. Outside that window, you can simply send us some high-resolution photos. Additionally, if you cover your bike within 60 days of purchasing it new and select lifetime new for old, we can replace your bicycle, item or part with a new item of the same make and model or the nearest equivalent up to the benefit limit, regardless of depreciation. Get a quote for your new bike by calling us on (805) 448-6558 or email us at [email protected]

Can I insure my bike just for the racing season?

Our insurance plans typically run for one year, and you have the choice of paying either monthly or annually. You can add racing coverage and then remove it again, when the season is over.

Get a quote for your new bike by calling us on (805) 448-6558 or email us at [email protected]

What do you consider to be accidental damage?

We define accidental damage as any damage caused to your bicycle, components oraccessories if the damage is caused by a specific unforeseen incident, crash, impact, or road hazard.

Can family members ride my bicycle and still be covered?

Yes, our bicycle insurance coverage includes your spouse, any children over 18 years old, or a partner you’ve lived with for two years or more, as long as they are listed on the policy as additional policyholders.

Is my bicycle covered while on a plane?

As long as your bicycle is securely packed in suitable transportation equipment and you've selected worldwide coverage, your bicycle will be covered on a plane.

My bicycle is a custom build, can I get insurance?

Absolutely. Just be sure to specify each custom component under custom parts and include these components in your total bike value.

Are my bicycle accessories and custom wheelsets covered?

You have the option to add accessories, such as a GPS computer, cycling-specific kit, or your helmet, to your policy up to a combined value of $1000. Additionally, you can add extra wheelsets up to the value of $5000. However, it's important to note that these accessories and wheelsets will only be covered if they are lost, damaged, or stolen along with your bicycle. If you need help including these items in your policy, please feel free to contact us at (805) 448-6558 or via email at [email protected], and we will gladly assist you.

Are my accessories or additional wheels covered if I loan them to a friend?

No, we don't cover your accessories or wheelsets while they're being used by anyone but you. Remember, we only cover these items if they form part of your insurance policy and are damaged or stolen in a covered loss.

What's the difference between a custom part and an additional accessory?

At Sundays Insurance, we define a custom part as a part or component you've fitted to your bicycle as a replacement to, or in lieu of, a manufacturer-supplied part. It must be listed on your Declaration Page and included in the total sum of your insured bicycle. So if you swap out the wheels that came with the bike for a set of your choice, this is considered a custom part and should be included in the bike's listed value.

An accessory, on the other hand, is any additional piece of equipment that is added to your bicycle, but which isn't a permanent feature. Accessories might include GPS computers, mounts and pannier racks, as long as the bike didn't come with them already attached. You do not need to specify the itemized accessories on your policy, but proof of ownership is important when it comes to claiming. We recommend you store your receipt safely, or take a photo of it and send it to yourself for safekeeping.

Are there any restrictions for Sundays Insurance?

In order to be eligible for coverage under this policy, you must be:

  • Over 18 years of age
  • A resident of the United States
  • The owner of the bicycle, but not a sponsored or professional cyclist

The bicycle must be in the US at the time you apply for this insurance and when the policy is issued. The bicycle can be used recreationally only, and will not be insured by us for professional use.

Making a Claim

I have made an insurance claim for my bicycle before, will this affect my coverage?

Probably not, but in some circumstances it might. Every policy is assessed individually, so it's important that you give us all the information we need during the quoting process, especially if you've had any bicycle-related losses in the past three years. Any gaps in your details might affect future claims so if in doubt, let us know.

What does the claims process look like?

Check out our claims process here.

How do I submit a claim?

You can file a claim online 24/7 by clicking here.

When can I make a claim?
  • If accidental damage is sustained to your bicycle and the cost to repair it would exceed the policy deductible, then you have a potential claim.
  • If your bicycle was stolen or if you get injured in a crash, you have a potential claim.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to call us on (805) 448-6558 or email us at [email protected].

What should I do if I need to make a claim?

If you ever need to make a claim, here's what you'll need to do to help move the process along swiftly:

  • Report the incident as soon as possible by following our claims process here. All incidents involving theft or attempted theft require a police report in order to make a claim
  •
  • Contact us within a reasonable amount of time from the incident
  •
  • Report the incident or loss to the police in the event of a theft, attempted theft, malicious damage/impact
  •
  • You're likely to need the bicycle's serial number if it has been stolen
  •
  • Try your best to prevent any further loss, damage or cost

We're all cyclists here at Sundays Insurance, so we understand how stressful an event that leads to a claim can be. If you need any assistance, call us on (805) 448-6558 or email us at [email protected].

How is my claim settlement amount calculated?

Your claim settlement is calculated based on the age of your bicycle and whether you have selected lifetime new for old coverage:

Bicycles under two years old

If you bought the bicycle new and it is less than two years old at the time of the claim, we will pay the lesser of:

  • Replacement cost, or
  • The new recommended retail price, or
  • Your sum insured, less any applicable deductible
Bicycles older than two years or purchased second hand

If you bought your bicycle new, did not select lifetime new for old and it is more than two years old or it was purchased second hand, we will pay you the lesser of:

  • The actual cash value
  • Its market value (applies only to second hand bicycles)
  • Your sum insured, less any applicable deductible

This above applies to total loss claims and partial loss claims.

Lifetime new for old

If you selected the lifetime new for old coverage, we will pay the lesser of:

  • Replacement cost, or
  • The new recommended retail price, or
  • Your sum insured, less any applicable deductible
What information do I need to provide when making a claim?

We will ask you to provide us with information about the incident and might request things like your bicycle's purchase receipt, photos of the damage to your bicycle and/or photos of the incident area.

If your bicycle was stolen, we will require proof that you complied with the security conditions of the policy. This might be a purchase receipt for the lock, a photo of the cut lock, the lock key and/or evidence of forcible entry. Always keep any evidence that could assist the claims team like the cut lock.

All instances involving theft, attempted theft or malicious damage require a police report in order to make a claim.

What is the deductible on my claim?

Your deductible is the amount you are responsible for paying in the event of a covered loss to your insured bicycle. Sundays Insurance offers a range of deductible options of $150, $250 or $350.

How does the deductible apply? Per accident or per year?

The policy deductible is applied per claim. If you have three claimable accidents in a year then you have three deductibles.

What is an accident?

An accident is an unforeseen incident that happens unexpectedly and unintentionally, typically resulting in damage or injury.

What is not an accident?

Normal wear and tear on the bike is not accidental, and will not be covered. A few examples of normal wear and tear is a drivetrain wearing, chain stretching or tire issues, brake pad replacement, etc.

Do I have to provide proof of ownership?

Yes. Without this information, we might not be able to pay your claim - that's why we ask for it at the time you take out your policy.

How can I prove ownership?

If you insured your bicycle within 60 days of purchasing it new, all you need to do is send us a copy of the purchase receipt. If it has been more than 60 days, please provide us with high-resolution images (a current smartphone will do the job) of each side of your bicycle. The photos you send us should include:

  • A sheet of paper that clearly displays your policy number
  •
  • Do not obscure any part of your bicycle
  •
  • Make sure you provide a clear image of your bicycle's serial number. This can usually be found on the underside of the bottom bracket so you may need to turn your bike upside down to get a good picture. Other common serial number locations include the headset and rear stays
Do you choose the bike shop to carry out the repair or replacement of my bicycle?

We are happy to work with your preferred bike shop but we retain the right to choose a repairer if, for example, the bike shop does not have the necessary expertise to carry out a specific assessment. In such a case, we'll make use of an assessor of our own choosing.

What happens after I make a claim?

Once we've received the information requested in support of your claim, we will notify the carrier and supply them with the documentation. They will review your claim and make a decision based on the information you have provided.

Once your claim has been approved, there are a couple of possible outcomes: Your bicycle and/or insured item may be repaired or replaced; or you may be offered a payment for the reasonable cost of replacing or repairing the bicycle or item yourself. At each stage of your claim we will provide you with updates, so keep an eye on your inbox.

Why has my claim been declined?

When your claim is declined you will always be provided with the reasons, so that you can understand the decision that was made.

You can contact us on (805) 448-6558 or email us on [email protected] at any stage with questions regarding the decision. If you are not satisfied with the  decision, you may contact our customer service team on the above details and they will escalate your complaint to ensure it's resolved.

Will you mail me an invoice?

To save you the admin (and to save the planet), we don't send paper invoices.

What happens at the end of my 12 month policy period?

To make sure that there are no gaps in coverage and that you never ride without protection, your policy will renew automatically after 12 months. If you decide you don't want to renew your policy, give us a call on (805) 448-6558 or email us at [email protected].

Can I add to or make changes to my policy?

Absolutely, you can call us on (805) 448-6558 or email us at [email protected]. Please keep in mind that some changes may affect your premium.

How do automatic renewals work?

When your 12-month policy reaches its anniversary, it will automatically renew for another year unless you request otherwise.

How does the 14-day cooling-off period work?

If you decide that this policy is not for you and you have not made a claim, you may cancel this policy within 14 days of it starting, and we will refund your premium paid (this also applies to each renewal period). Even after this 14-day cooling-off period ends, you still have cancellation rights.
This does not apply to New York

Can Sundays Insurance cancel my policy?

We may cancel your policy if you:

  • Do not comply with the policy terms and conditions
  • Do not pay your premium as agreed
  • Make a fraudulent claim
  • Misrepresented information when you entered into your policy

If we pay a claim for a total loss, your policy comes to an end and there is no refund of premium.
